Overlay VLC Plugin

Hi all,
I'm using vlc plugin on FF3 but i have a question that i cannot resolve.
I'm trying to display a simple div tag (image or anything) over the video plugin while video is playing, but it seems that firefox displays the video plugin always on top of all. I tried with z-indexes, absolute positions, wmode param set to transparent, but nothing works. However, if i use Quicktime plugin on IE7 and set wmode to transparent, this works on IE.
Can i do something on FF to do this?

Thanks in advance.

I tried it under IE7, but it seems that IE doesn´t understand wmode param on vlc plugin.
The reason to choice vlc plugin is that vlc support more video formats than quicktime and wmp plugins.
Do you know how can i install more codecs in order to make wmp plugin support more formats?
Is wmp able to be controlled using javascript?

Thanks.

I have read that wmp plugin was hard-coded to play only windows video formats, so i won't be able to play mpeg files with wmp plugin. Any suggestions??
Thanks
