multiple VLC player in one page

Postby alex.stienstra » 06 Mar 2008 13:03

Hi,

I have a webapplication which features a grid of 4 or more VLC players. Sometimes it works, but mostly it crashed the browser (both FF and IE). With only one player in place it works perfectly but as soon as I dynamically insert more VLC players it crashes the browser. But sometimes (specially in IE) it does not crash and works as expected. Is this a know problem? Is there a workaround to overcome this problem?

Thanks in advance, greetings.

Alex Stienstra.

It is a known problem, but it isn't fixed.

I realised that a possible workaround could be a VLC mosaic. Combine several streams as one stream on the server and present this stream in one VLC player in the browser.

are you sure? im still having problems with multiple instances. Creating them and destroying them is fine (as long as you dont play any video), but as soon as i set them all off playing video only one plays, and then the app freezes.

Is the version 0.9.6b the same as 0.9.6+?
I've checked on Kubuntu and it works great :) Thanks for help.
