Problem with Mozilla Plugin on Linux (Javascript issue ? )

Postby 0001001 » 14 Jan 2007 18:23

I've found some nice script (thx to the author, don't remember where I got it) which uses the mozilla plugin to play videos. Using Windows+Firefox everything works fine, but when I'm using Linux+Firefox it doesn't play the video.
A demo can be found here:
http://huegel.hu.funpic.de/demo/vlc.html
As I already said, it works on Windows but not on Linux.

It's not an Mozilla plugin issue, because it can play the video on this site:
http://huegel.hu.funpic.de/demo/working.html

It really seems to be an issue with Javascript, when selecting a video from the drop-down menu.
I've uploaded the whole package if someone wants to try it at home:

Can anyone help me with this?

Hi, i'm using the same code you've found (the first link) .. with firefox 1.5 it works fine. .. but with firefox 2 the stream doesn't start.. i think it's a javascript issue.. i'm trying to check the javascript file vlc.js called by the page (view in the page source) .. if this problem will persist, i think i'll change the js code and use a simplest one.

Try to copy/paste the code from the js file to the html page between <script> tags and delete the link to the js file from html head code.
This worked for me, even if seek controls don't work.. i'm looking for a final solution...
The only winning move is not to play
