VLC 0.8.6 plugin crashes with Mobile Firefox

Mobile Firefox ( http://mobilefirefox.com/ ) is a version of Firefox which is started from a special loader so it'll work from USB sticks and readonly media (like DVD).
I got VLC 0.8.5 and 0.8.6-test1 working in it by copying over mozilla/npvlc.dll, libvlc.dll and all files from plugins/ to the Firefox plugin directory.

However starting from VLC 0.8.6-test2 the browser plugin stopped working on Mobile Firefox. When started from startmobilefirefox.exe (the loader) it just crashes, while starting it from mobilefirefox.exe works. However the last one is just the normal Firefox, so it'll use the profile from the local computer instead.

Does anyone have any ideas on getting VLC 0.8.6 working in Mobile Firefox?

Perhaps you should try Portable Firefox, from Portableapps.com

That's what I used before, also because it was available in a version which had Windows and Mac binaries but shared the same profile. However Portable Firefox focusses mostly on usage from USB sticks and I think Portable Firefox doesn't work from readonly media (like DVD).

Last time I used Portable Firefox I used the VLC 0.8.5 plugin. It tried it again with the 0.8.6 plugin and it also crashes Portable Firefox.

So at the moment the 0.8.6 plugin can't be used from readonly media (DVD) without requiring installation. I think the old 0.8.5 plugin could do this, however it lacks many features (especially the old mozilla plugin).
