That's a very bad idea you have .....

why ?

1 - the path of your files are different from a platform to another
2 - mozilla is not a streaming platform ....... if it's possible to do what you say : you will loose a lot of performance for nothing.
3 - you must keep your mozilla open on your plugin, you close it or change of address and you kill your streaming.

Better you install vlc on each, and they are optimized for each of your platform (so better performances).

vlc work very well in command line .... the point is that you can with this "auto start" your webcam with a single clic on an icon that run vlc with all the needed parameters (witch can suppress the graphic interface if it's that you don't want to see)

1 - install vlc on each
2 - run vlc with the needed parameters to multicast a webcam (watch out, one and only one multicast IP per webcam)
3 - connect you to the camera you need by setting the corresponding IP of the correct webcam in another instance of vlc.

but : do you really need multicast ? to explain shortly you send once your data and then your switch copy it to any computer that listen to the IP (if the switch is not enough good it broadcast it).
you can saturate your network and computers if your network is not thought for multicast ........
To put it more simply : does all the computers of your network need to access at the same time to the exact same webcam ?
