Cone appears on IE

Hi All,
I am trying to stream the video online by using VLC. When ever i open IE the VLC screen is with Cone, the symbol used for VLC. How do i get blank screen when the video is not played. I am facing this problem on IE 6 not on Mozilla Firefox.
How does Firefox is giving the blank screen on VLC when i open the webpage. why IE is displaying the cone.
Please let me know the solution.
