hello,
I have seen it said that it is possible to embed VLC in ppt presentations. But I have not found a way to do it, through searching online and reading documentations.
Here is the situation:
We are running powerpoint in dual monitors: one as presentation director, one for the output. Frequently we must run DVDs on the second monitor in the middle of the powerpoint presentation. To do this we must exit PowerPoint Presenter, load VLC, drag the window to the secondary monitor, fullscreen it by double-clicking, then select which chapter to view. It is all VERY sloppy and the audience gets to see all the menus and windows and stuff...
In addition the DVD drive on this computer is very slow and the video skips a lot, especially with powerpoint running in the background sucking up memory. So I thought, why not copy the DVDs to the hard drive? So I mounted a virtual network drive to a folder on my computer and dragged the VIDEO_TS files to it, opened the virtual drive as a DVD and viola! That part worked, but now I am at a loss to get it into PowerPoint so that it is already on the secondary monitor. I was told to import the VLC activeX control into Powerpoint but it's not registered as an Object, and I don't know how to import it from a file ( I have that dialog but I don't know which file to choose ).
If anyone can assist, it would be a great help.
Thanks-
