versions differences

i've tried to activeX versions: 0.8.5 and 0.8.2

0.8.5 :
the delay is 7 seconds but the stream is stable

0.8.2 :
the delay is 1-2 seconds but the stream is not stable.

is there anything i can configure so i can get the minimum delay with stable stream?

0.8.5 is of course 0.8.4

The delay is X seconds doesn't mean anything if you don't tell us what you're measuring.

i'm watching live video (http) from ffmpeg server (asf)

i'm using the default settings of the player.

is it the time to open the video ? to launch the ActiveX plugin ?

the delay time is the seconds between the reality, and what i see in the video.
the thing is that the video on the server is with 0 delay to the reality.

now, what i'm watching the video from the 0.8.4 vlc, its starts buffering (i guess) untill it has 7 seconds.. and only then starts playing.
when i configured the asf file to a higher bitrate, resolution, with audio.. the vlc start playing only after 7 seconds again. it means that its not a minimum size that its buffering, its minimum seconds .. i guess..
thats why, the whole video i'm watching with the 0.8.4 is actually 7 seconds in the past.

in 0.8.2 vlc, it starts to play after 1-2 seconds -> buffering -> continue playing with delay of 1-2 .
but the 0.8.2 stuck from time to time and the continue again (and again-with 1-2 seconds delay)

btw: why "Player.pause();" doesn't work?

AFAIK you can set the Caching Buffer in your VLC.exe in input_modules (in your case the http module). Try to find the best setting for your purpose.

The ActiveX will use the same settings, once you "Save" them.
