Windowless acceleration

Postby Obrain » 15 Apr 2015 09:21

hi,

I was wondering if the windowless option can or will come with acceleration because no-acceleration eats up my cpu.
windowless: (since VLC version 2.0.6) Draw the video on a window-less (non-accelerated) surface and allow styling (CSS overlay, 3D transformations, and much more). Default: false

thanks

Windowless mode is slow by design. At least on Windows. You can do nothing with it. Why do you need windowless?

I see..

Isn't there a way I can send a link from my browser directly to vlc like vlc://linktostream.
and or even vlc://subtitletostream.srt so I can add it the playlist.

Thanks

Sorry, don't know.

But if you just need a way to place custom controls over video - you could try WebChimera plugin
