Troubleshooting ActiveX

Postby webuser » 26 Aug 2005 23:58

Hi

I have two PCs with WinXP/SP2, one having full VLC 0.8.2 installed (PC1) while the other has only axvlc.dll registered (PC2). Looking at the demo page, I have cretaed an html page with ActiveX embedded to play ogg files in Internet Explorer. I can play the files in PC1 but not on PC2. There is no error returned. Is it mandatory to install full VLC 0.8.2? If not, how can I troubleshoot problem?

Regards.

axvlc.dll does cannot play any media file without the plugins; just like the player.
I would advise that you use the installer to properly install VLC on PC2, then you may remove the player, vlc.exe, if you only want the ActiveX plugin

Thanks, you answered my question. How can pick and choose the required plugins for my simple need? I just want to to stream audio (only ogg) files through http.

Regards,
