VLC plugin for internet explorer not working for VLC-0.8.2

Hi frnds,
i am using VLC for quite a long time.I was using the VLC plugin for mozilla.
But i need plugin for IE.

Now i have come across that VLC-0.8.2 provides the plugin for IE.

but i am not able to make it work.

please anyone give me the stpes to correctly install VLC plugin for IE on windows XP.

If you use the installer, it should be insatlled correctly.
If you use the zip, read the ReadMe in the activex directory.

Similar issue here.

VLC works ok under Firefox - plays but controlls are not available.... but will not play at all under IE.

Using VLC 0.9.9 - and the server has the latest VLC server for Apache under Centos 5.

Elaborating further,
- i installed VLC with the win-32 installer.
- Used the following embed code:

- Have equally played arround with

<param name='Visible' value='True' /> instead of <param name='ShowDisplay' value='True' />;

- Also used "Target" and "MRL" instead of "Src"
- But the plugin only displays like a "broken image" in IE while it reports that VLC Active-X control is loaded (checked with Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer under Tools -> Manage add-ons)
- The problems is same in IE6/Win XP and IE7/Win Vista

Exactly what I've just posted!

You CAN use it and it works if you load the playlist by JavaScript commands.
But apparently using param "Src", "MRL", "target" or "filename" (as is in the README.txt file in the source) NOTHING happens. Plugin loads but no file was played. The test.html file in the source code has

and all tests are done using JavaScript functions. So they all pass.

You can see the difference using those two links:
Using only HTML params:

The first link don't work at least for 0.9.9 activeX in IE but the second yes (remember it's using JavaScript to initialize the playlist).
BOTH works under firefox.
I'll be very glad to ear about other activeX version (0.8.6, 0.9.8, 1.0-RC mainly). If there's no answer, I'll try to test it myself.

I think it's an activeX bug but until I don't have more information I don't know if it's a regression or it's never have worked.

Please, install VLC media player 1.0 and try this ActiveX latest version.

I found that the problem of Src parameter not been added to the playlist have been fixed.
