Http interface (VLC 2.0.3)

Postby guillc » 24 Sep 2013 19:19

Hello,

I'm on Debian (Wheezy) and i've installed VLC 2.0.3.
When i launch vlc (in console mode only, I've no X) with HTTP interface, it works well....But i want to control the player from an other PC, not in the same network and the IP is unknow.

With the .host file , i can authorize PC only with theirs IP.
I need to protected the http interface with a user & password prompt. (like .htaccess)

I've read that a solution is to create a .access file with "user:password" on the line...I've tried but it's not work :( .
(in the introduction of this page : http://www.videolan.org/doc/play-howto/en/apb.html)

Maybe i miss to do something....

Thank for your help !
