How to simplify videolan's setup for the IE/Windows users ?

Postby Miso » 08 Jun 2006 22:43

Hi,

On our web site, we use WM format for videos that we would like to replace by MPEG4/H264. The problem is that Windows users have direct access to WM and we would like to give them also an easy access to the new MPEG4/H264 videos.

We think that videolan is a nice choice but the initial setup is just a little bit to complicated for the average user. Using the ActiveX component or the Mozilla/Firefox plugin doesn't simplify this procedure as this components can only be installed with the full Videolan setup.

Has anyone any idea about simplifying the initial setup of Videolan for the average IE/Windows user? The ideal solution would be that the users get the necessary components automatically after simply agreeing about getting Videolan.

Thanks in advance for your help
