link on the website to play rstp stream

Hello Team,

Could somebody advise me please, if it is possible to create the link (for the website) to lunch VLC and play rstp stream automatically?

So my entry looks like:

<a href="file:///C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe rtsp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"><img src="smiley.gif" style="width:42px;height:42px;"></a>

but this is not valid.
