VLC Player for Big Screen Bingo?

Postby gilsy08 » 07 Mar 2019 18:12

Hello

In short, I'm trying to find a solution to make Bingo work on a projector - my first trial was ok, I used VLC's shuffle function to play 90 3 second video clips from a playlist - each containing a different bingo number - and when someone shouted BINGO I could pause and continue without issue.

HOWEVER on a couple of occasions VLC would shut down mid shuffle meaning I'd have to restart the playlist on stage and numbers were then repeated, causing some frustration from the participants. Furthermore, I tried to make it so certain numbers triggered some fun footage or if someone won a round I'd switch to Quicktime in order to play a quick montage. This was a little messy and meant that numbers would repeat again once coming back to VLC.

Any advise on this rather specific requirement of mine would be great!

Thanks!

Giles

VLC 4.0 will improve this shuffling use-case.
