Playing UDP stream in VLC 3.0 does not work

I'm using ffmpeg to transcode some input stream, and the output link from ffmpeg is "udp://127.0.0.1:5000".

I'm using VLC ActiveX in a C# application, and I use "udp://@0.0.0.0:5000" as the string that I add in the playlist.
I have also tested with the VLC player, and I used the same URL "udp://@0.0.0.0:5000", in Media->Open Network Stream menu, in order to play the stream.

This works just fine in VLC 2.2.6 (with both VLC ActiveX and VLC player), but since the release of VLC 3.0.0 I cannot make it work anymore.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

I have the same problem. I am using OBS Studio to output a UDP multicast stream to my building, and viewing with VLC. I can view the stream just fine with VLC version 2.2.6, but the stream won't play (or it plays with audio only) in version 3.0.1.

The stream settings are as follows:
Container: mpegts
Video encoder: libx264 at 512kbps
Audio encoder: aac at 128kbps
Output resolution: 852x480

Any help about how to fix this or what to change would be greatly appreciated.

I am having this exact same issue with version 3.0.2 Vetinari. Does anyone know if there is a fix coming or even if there is a bug report logged? This post is about the only thing I can find online.

I have VLC installed on an Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS VM. I am able to play mp3 directly from the machine just fine but I cannot connect to udp streams.

The same config works fine on my 14.04LTS server using VLC 2.1.4
