Problem with axvlc.dll and audio formats.

Postby vbfan » 23 Dec 2014 05:57

Hi,
This is my first post so my apologies if I've posted the question in the wrong section. :)
I'm new to programming so please keep it simple for me.

System: Windows7 32 Bit. Visual Studio 2010 vb.net. Latest version of K-Lite codec pack installed.

I'm trying to develop an audio player than can play two files at the same time. I wanna mix two music sessions.
I've started a new project and dragged axvlc.dll v2 to a form; created and programmed some button (Play, Stop, Load, Pause etc) ant it is working mostly fine. Now I'm facing following two issues:
1. I can use axvlc.dll as long as I've the old versions of VLC player on my computer (up to v1.1.0). If I use the version newer than v1.1.0 for example 2.0 etc) I can't use axvlc.dll in my vb.net project. It results an error saying that component not register and can't create component 'AxHost' etc. How can I fix this.
2. As a normal user, when I double click the VLC player shortcut from my desktop, VLC can play Real Audio files (.ra etc.) along with other formats. My vb.net player can play almost all file formats but can't play Real Audio files. No errors, no crashes but just silence. How can I play Real Audio files from my vb player?
Thanks and regards.
