Extract Metadata in C# Project

Hello,

I am trying to extract the Metadata of video files by using the mediaDescrition functionality. But here I run into some problems.

First:
Belong the resulting information to the actually played file? Or is it possible to set a specific itemID where the Metadata should belong to?

Second:
When I try to use the fields in the mediaDescription property I always got a COMException with HRESULTE E_FAIL. Merely the title information are accessible. Is this a known bug, and how is it possible to extract this kind of information using the VLC ActiveX Plugin?
