MRL is displayed in IE but not firefox

Im embedding vlc into a webpage and works for IE and firefox. In IE it shows a mrl on the video for a few seconds (eg cctv.ws/7/BBC1) while in firefox it doesn't. Wondering if there was a way to switch off the mrl in IE. Or if I can have the channel name instead of the MRL that'd be good. Eg BBC1 instead of cctv.ws/7/BBC1
