It is imperative that the VLC plugins (Firefox/ActiveX) behave like others - First-time execution via HTML OBJECT/IMBED objects with CODEBASE= reference must always work! They should at least be present:
I've tried using the touted "http://code.revolunet.com/VLCobject/", which makes reference to -
codebase="http://downloads.videolan.org/pub/video ... /axvlc.cab"
which would seem to be a sensible object on the web. Alas, it does not exist.
And, in past attempts to use it, the Mozilla Plugin was defaulted as NOT selected.
If VLC is to be THE browser media player, this must be attended to.
