IP Cam (D-Link DCS-900) video recording

Postby cyj » 28 Apr 2009 06:23

I have a DCS-900. My goal is recording video through the IP cam. I think the progress would be: 1) capture jpeg with "X" fps form IP cam and tranform *.jpg to MJPEG file with "X" fps. Or 2) some way directly record video as MJPEG file.

I think vlc could do that at least one way of them. I really need a "COMPLETE" progress of commands with parameters.

Any help or correctness would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot in advance.

I'll report results if i have any.

You may want to look into a video input card of some type like hauppauge or something like that. Where you can ingest video then you can convert the video files to any other file format that you are looking to use it at. But you need to try and use some type of encoding hardware to get the video into your machine.
