script to find out the version of the installed VLC Player?

Postby edwart » 13 Mar 2009 12:01

hello,

i want to create a html side which has an embedded VLC player.
but i want to have a little script, which checks the version of the installed vlc-player-plugin.

is that possible?
Which interfaces can i use for checking the local installed vlc player version?

Thankx for your help
Best regards,

Edwart

it should be embedded in a webside.

And a second question: is it possible to draw the controls (play/pause/Fullscreen) on the Video-window? like a OSD? the bring a webside layer over the playerobject?

thank you very much for your help
