Bezel-less skin a la Quicktime X

Hi,
I haven't tried out skinning yet, but I've got an idea for a skin that I would like to do. First I need to know if it is even possible. Basically i want to make a skin without a bezel, i.e. just a resizable video window and I only want the on screen controls to appear when i hoover over the window with the mouse, much like Quicktime X. Is it possible with current skinning tools and vlc limitations?
Some pictures of Quicktime X if you haven't seen it:

I don't think that possible. First of all I'm not sure whether one can simply draw elements over a video.
Also for the window to be resizable you'd need at least a 1 px border around the video where the mouse can grab to.
And that the controls appear on mouse moving is not possible at all with the current abilities of the VLC skins system.

Interesting challenge ...
No everything is possible so far, but still we can approach it. Here are a few remarks :
- OS dependency
On Linux, vlc offers the possibility to regain mouse control (which is captured by the video window by default.).
On Windows, this is not available (today's vlc design makes it difficult to do it).
So, better use Linux than Windows for this work.
- look 'n feel
a rimless video window plus a second controller is already possible. It should even already be possible to move/resize the video window by adding other moveable/resizeable controls on top of the video control on Linux (use --vout-event in vlc1.0 or ---no-mouse-event in vlc1.1 to regain mouse control).
- a fullscreen controller has just been added to vlc1.1. What you describe is functionally very close. That makes me think if we could extend this feature to any video window (not just fullscreen). We could then have a subcontroller limited to the video window.

Interesting. Unfortunatelly I'm a Windows user and not a very skilled coder, but if anyone feels up for the task or stumbles upon anything resembeling this skin please let me know!

Andgest, do you think you could maybe share your skin with the rest of us? I would really like it
