Help for a total moron?

Postby Conformist138 » 01 Nov 2009 08:32

is there any other tutorial out there for the vlc skin editor besides the main instruction page? those instructions are not really written to give someone a step-by-step of how the program is used and since i have zero experience with skins i am left with far more questions than answers. i've spent hours pretty much mashing buttons trying to muddle my way through with no luck and i've read and re-read the main instructions and it's all gibberish to me. i have plenty of photoshop experience so designing what i want it to look like was no problem, but i can't even figure out how i'm supposed to save (should there be a different .png for each slice or should it be one file? should i rename slices or keep them numbered?)

if anyone knows of a good tutorial for this program i would appreciate it since i'm beginning to run out of patience (i've never had such a hard time using a program before, but i've also never used a program with so few help resources).

I'm the only developer and writer of the help, so there is at the moment no other tutorial. I just don't have the time to do a better one.

You should export a different png for each slice (otherwise slicing would not have made any sense, would it?). How you name them is up to you and of no importance.
