Is there any way to make VLC have a playlist like iTunes or foobar (with the columns thingee)?
I want to use VLC for all media playback, but I need a permanent playlist like iTunes.

Also, a Library (file directory) browser would be fantastic.

The library/file directory browser functionality is already implemented in the latest development versions of vlc.
