Skinnable x1 speed button?

The default gui has a x1 speed button available by right-clicking on the speed indicator! I'd like to create a skin (or modify some existing) to have such a button (e.g. next to 'play'/'pause' or in between 'slower' and 'faster'), but I cannot find a suitable "action". How is it implemented in the default gui? Is there a 'known' trick to accomplish this? Or where can I find more information?

Or perhaps, where/how do I post a suggestion to extend the "action" api with something like vlc.normal() (as a 'natural' complement to vlc.faster() and vlc.slower())?

There is no such action for skins2, all available actions are listed on http://www.videolan.org/vlc/skins2-create.html#actions

So I've noticed... But the original gui has it implemented, which means it should be "doable".

Am I the only one that believes this to be a really intuitive, natural, usable and - frankly put - logical action? An action that should have been implemented alltogether with the 'faster' and 'slower' actions. As soon as there is possibility for more than one 'step' away from 'normal' state, I believe there should be a 'single step' way back to 'normal'. That is, I believe the most common scenario of use to be, at least for the 'faster' action, to increase speed (a number of steps) until a certain scene is found where one immediately would like to start watch at normal speed again.

Sorry for being such a noob about the vlc community and/or development culture/structure... etc. etc.
