bone deep skin question

I use the skin named bone deep because I used to be able to go to preferences and change the size of the screen to completely full size on my computer screen and now when I hit full screen I still have the black lines at the top and the bottom. Can anyone tell me what happened to this option with this skin and if it exists with another skin? Thank you very much.
