Multiple Playlists In One Player?

First off, thanks a lot for the help so far. Got through my problems with the help of these forums and got my skin designed great!

Now my new obstacles--

1) I have buttons on my player designated for 3 separate playlists (music, audiobooks, and shuffle all, if it matters). I got the playlist windows all set up, now I just need to be able to a)Make sure when the buttons are clicked, the right playlist opens ("Music" button opens music playlist), and b)Dump files from CDs into the right playlists.

2) I'd like to create a customized column in the playlists that contains a short text string (I'm sharing my player with my roommates, and it would be helpful to have a "Name" column so we can see who added which tracks to the player).

Could I convert playlists from another player (e.g., WMP) and link them to my buttons? Or can VLC only do one playlist total?

At the moment the playlist or playtree element in skins2 does only display the current playlist and the medialibrary. It is not possible to let a button load a specific playlist file.
