Vlc skinning status quo

So many years that im a vlc user and the other day I realised couple of things

-theres still no interface in full screen mode - timeline, volume and other basic commands ( available for Mac but not for PC :!: :?: )

-available skin support is pretty buggy - video window is fixed and theres no way he can be moved ; when passing from full screen
to normal mode parts from the last image on screen are still visible  ( F5 to refresh
explorer make them disappear ) ; interface window has no shadows but video window has

-skin choice and quality are both pretty poor for such a performant player - just take a look and compare the skins in the media
players section on deviantart - even kmplayer has more
choice and the skin quality is just not comparable with
whats available for vlc ; is it that skin artists simply avoid
vlc or they just dont have the support needed

All that leaves the impression that vlc crew just doesnt care about that side of their project . Thats a shame for what many people
consider the most performant and simpliest to use player out there

Someone is working on the fullscreen controller for PC/Linux using Qt interface

Skins is another issue. Numbers of skins is something we can't really address except with the skin designer...
About improving the features of the skins, well, we are really short on developpers on that side.

A lot of VLC's weaknesses aren't just skin-related. I'd like to see VLC become as stable and nice as KMPlayer (not to be confused with the KDE player.)

the Skins have come a long way since when i first started developing my skins for v0.8.0

Comparing the features available then to now... i can say that it's a HUGE improvement...
