I know that vlc is not supported on 98 but I would like to use the skin anyway

It worked on a prev version of vlc (I don't remember which).
it opened the skin2 interface and worked until I closed.

then it gave an error message and closed

Now it just gives the error message when I try to turn on the skins

here is the message:
