Is it possible to start up the VLC Player without skins? With the windows intarface I mean.

Yes:
1) don't use the shortcut which forces skins
2) reset your preferences, or force in the preferences the wxWidgets interface
3) if you build VLC yourself on linux, make sure that the wxWidgets plugin doesn't have unresolved symbols (running 'vlc -v --reset-config --reset-plugins-cache -I wx' may help).

Start >> All Programs >> VideoLAN >> Reset VLC defaults and quit
