Skins2 crashes

VLC v. 0.8.5 does not want to be themed.
Any use of Skins2, just after the theme file choice-box, results in a crash.
The log eventually says the following:
skins2 error: failed to parse D:\VLC Player\skins\default.vlt
skins2 error: cannot load the theme, aborting
Along the way it looks for non-existing folders under "Application Data" and "Local Settings\Temp".
The OS is WinXP HE in Hebrew and ther are Hebrew usernames as well, thus the "Application Data" and other folders have a path name that's not exclusively English. The software, though, has a Hebrew language. file, so I'm not at all sure it is a problem. The log file shows some gibberish, so I though it's worth mentioning.
What can I do to solve it? I've seen here others who had the same problem, though I haven't seen a definite solution.

You are right, there is a problem when the username is not using only ascii characters. But I didn't have time to look at it yet...
I don't know any workaround (other than creating another user with ascii characters...)
Can I trick VLC somehow?

Or run it through an emulator of some sort?

I think I have fixed the problem. Could you check it with the next
nightly build (night between the 24th and the 25th)?

We are the 24th... you still have to wait until tomorrow!
Oh, yes... Indeed.

I'll be waiting anxiously in the next 20 minutes.
Dear me,

anxiously waiting for 30 minutes before remembering at last the meaning of "time zones".
Tomorrow it is, than.
Very good.

Skins are now working! Thanks.
It might be worth a version update all by itself, wouldn't it?

I'm not the one who decides this kind of things
But there are still a few bug fixes and features (concerning the skins) that i would like to have before next release...
Other problems

There are, however, other problems now - the DivX video quality drop-down menu has disappeared (not accessible even when not using Skins2) and when changing skins while video is running, the video disconnects from the main player window and continue playing in it's own.

This is the risk of using a development version
when changing skins while video is running, the video disconnects from the main player window and continue playing in it's own
This has always been the case (if the initial skin uses a skinned video output). We would like to fix this behaviour, but until now we didn't manage to do so. It might be easier once the video output framework is rewritten (this is supposed to happen before 0.8.6, but the work is not started afaik).
Okay.

Good luck.
I'll be downloading when it's up.

To fix the menus in skins mode you might want to check if you have a libqt4_plugin.dll file in the new VLC install and remove it. The new qt4 stuff is not finished yet

I'll wait for the next formal update.
Thank you.
