Start VLC with different skin for mp3 or mp4 - possible?

I'm looking for a way to start VLC with different skins, depending on the type of media.
Is there an option for that i cant find?

Could it be a way to have two independant installations of VLC on the Computer - and to define each of them to be the default program to open only some of these file formats?

Another idea: do start options for VLC exist, that define the used skin? ...
