Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum. However, I have been a long-time and loyal user of the VLC media player. Since I have been waiting in vain for years for a dark version of the default skin to be available, I have now designed my own dark skin. This is where my questions come in.

1. I have heard numerous requests for a dark version of the default skin. Why is nothing being done about it? Why are the VLC developers silent on this matter?

• Why was it announced years ago that the issues with the skin editor had been resolved, but they are nowhere to be found?

• Who is actually in charge of the skin area? The most recent skin there is from 2010 (!!!), despite the area supposedly being updated daily.

I shouldn't even have to ask these questions because if you browse through the topics in this forum, you know that they won't be answered. However, I am persistent, so I have another question:

• Can I find someone here who can help me set up additional actions (like dialogs.changeSkin()) and boolean expressions (like vlc.isStopped)? I have achieved a lot with the existing possibilities, but I want more. For example, the ability to adjust the proportions of two elements (such as playlist and video) within the skin. Or the ability to use clickable URLs in texts. And the ability to jump forward or backward in a video in large and small steps.

My previous experiences with VLC support have been solely through studying the forum and the mentioned pages. At least I have learned how to design a skin through this process. But overall, the support has been negative (as seen by the unanswered questions 1-3). Perhaps my experience will change soon. However, at the moment, I will not offer my skin to this team. I would like to be part of a functioning project that doesn't respond to user needs with silence. But right now, I don't see that here. Currently, I feel alone. And I suspect that many others feel the same way.

Anyone who has been unsuccessfully searching for a dark skin that is optimized for daily use and offers many customization options can only obtain it by PMing me. It is currently available only in German. Menu navigation in English may be possible in the future. However, it is still usable even without language skills. For example, you can change the design by double-clicking on the header or (when no video is playing) on the left and right sides of the time slider.

I look forward to any interested parties and, above all, to a response to my questions.
