Enlarge and rearrange native skin buttons for high resolution screens

Hi,

I've been using vlc for at least 10 or maybe 15 years but just as a "normal" user. From time to time I've done some streaming or re-encoded stuff, that's it.

Now vlc is unusable on my high resolution screen due to small buttons. I've activated mouse gestures but that's not enough for me.

I wondered if I can modify the "native skin" in a simple way, without having to create a brand new skin from scratch, in order to enlarge buttons and maybe rearrange them. I have some programming backgrounds so if this requires downloading the source code and editing some files, that's ok if it's not too complicated.

Are there plans to solve this issue? Does anyone know in which release the vlc team is going to fix this?

Thanks,
Luca

I have the same problem on a Win 10 netbook. I love VLC but I'm going cross-eyed trying to use it on my 13.3 inch Zenbook with QHD. Such machines are becoming more and more popular so I'm surprised that VLC's recent Win 10 version didn't address this problem. I may look for something else.
