Operate VLC with TV screen resolution

Postby jackjack » 25 May 2006 09:41

Is there a skin or interface for VLC that can be operated when PC output is to television screen where resolution is very low compared to PC screen.

I would like to connect a PC with my TV so that I can easily show DVD:s on it. Currently I need to have an extra screen where I can navigate VLC

My video card is GeForce 6800 LE, operating Windows Media Center Edition -- Yeah, should not even need VLC but but the MPC built in DVD playing sftware seems to be somewhat limited/restricted in functionality.. 8-(

There was a typing error in my message.. What I tried to say is that the DVD player software in Windows Media Center Edition (MCE) seems to have some limitations -- E.g. it refuses to play my official copy of Lord Of The Rings when VLC does...

That is why I'm looking for a player that can be operated via TV screen. Anf for that purpose the Windows menu based interface of VLC is not quite suitable.

Is there a skin or something that would make it work like the MCE interface does.. Very big text, simple choices.. Yet powerful.. 8-)
