How do I Display kbps and kHZ in a Skin?

Postby thekrell » 30 Mar 2006 05:02

I'm running the Windows version and attempting to replace Winamp with VideoLan. I'm using the Chaos skin and I'd like to see the kbps and kHZ while a song is playing, much the way Winamp does.

I see the words, "kbps" and "kHZ" on the skin, but no numbers display. I'd like that info, along with the total song length, to display. I've tried reading the manual and with clicking on various prefences but I'm not getting anywhere.

Thanks,
Ric

Hi,
indeed the "kbps" and "kHz" are not supposed to work, they are just here to look like the original xmms skin ;)
Maybe I'll implement that one day if I find a way to do it...

That's a relief. All the while I thought I was hitting the wrong setting. It's still my favorite skin.

I've just implemented this feature, it should work with the next nightly build.
However it will NOT work with the xmms skin on the site, but you have to load directly the original xmms chaos skin (or any other winamp2 skin, by the way) at http://xmms.org/skins.php

This is no more true, I have updated the chaos skin on videolan.org (but you still need the latest vlc version)
