border on MaxVLC skin

Can someone remove the hideous 1px white border on this awesome skin?

I guess you can do it yourself, it's simply a matter of modifying the image to suit your needs and changing slightly the XML file of the skin.

you´re using a windows theme, right? so that 1 pixel border is caused by your windows theme, not by the vlc-skin. the video-window is the default window with captions, i guess. so you can´t remove the border in vlc.

to have the same video-window with caption on top and without borders, you have to create that window in vlc-skin. but without the borders you aren´t able to resize the window.

another device is to use the video-window "without captions" (in player preferences > video). but: same problem > without captions you can´t move or resize the window.

I have also been told that the 1px white border is because of the windows skin, I need to get that fixed.


However in the second part of your answer you suggest that it IS the vlc skin. What do you mean with "you have to create that window in the vlc skin". I don't mind not being able to resize (you get quarter-half-original-double anyway) and with the top captionbar you can move the window.

So anyone know how I can edit the windows skin to show borderless vlc video window?

Sorry, i didn't understand you were talking about the video window.
Unless your skin contains a Video control (which is not the case with this one), the video window is a normal window, with border. To remove this border, just apply the method i explained in the other thread you started, and you will really get only the video (but you probably will be unable to move it, i think you can only set the "video x coordinate" and "video y coordinate" parameters in the preferences).

The video will be able to be moved from the titlebar.

Someone removed the 1 pixel border; it made the theme useless.

Basically the original themer, Three Drives make this theme borderless yet windows were resizeable. On all but video windows there was no border.

Someone an hour ago removed the final 1pixel around the video windows,
it broke the whole theme, property pages were 1 pixel narrower than the titlebar and no windows could be resized.


I don't know if there is a way to remove the 1 px around videos and not break the theme. Although the rest of the theme was broken the 0 border shadowed videos sure looked good.

What about these Video Controls you mention? Could they provide an answer?

some one should try putting a 1px border on a skin, but make that a transparent pixel.
