No skins2 module on vlc

Postby Land-of-Mordor » 25 Nov 2005 16:42

I've tried this with vlc 0.8.2 and vlc 0.8.4 under Mandriva using Kde desktop
It's quite simple, I try tu run "vlc -I skins2" and the program starts with wxwidgets or another interface module. Once installed the program there's no skins folder in /home/user/.vlc or at /root/.vlc. I used rmp packages downloaded from rpm.pbone.net.
When I ask the program about "skins2" module (vlc --module skins2) it just say nothing about if it's installed or not (funny, isn't it?). Using "vlc -l" do not appear skins2 in the module list. How must I add the skins2 module? or where can I download a rpm for Mandriva including skins2?
If it's possible, send me an email krinyt@hotmail.com

I don't know if there is a RPM with the skins2 module.
But in the worst case, you can always build VLC yourself.

Thanks, but having a bit of luck I found "svcl", that is, the vlc program with skins module available for Mandriva and other distributions and it works ;). It's available even with the test version 0.8.4, so, everybody who needs it can download it from rpm.pbone.net
