Next chapter buttom

I have the 0.9.8.a version, I notice that the "Menu" and "Next chapter" buttoms are not visible when I start the VLC Media player. How can I configure it ?
I can see the "next" - "stop"- "before" buttoms but not the ones above.

They are only visible when you play a DVD or some other media with chapters/menus. So when you start VLC and nothing is played they are invisible, as you could anyway not do anything with them at that point.

I was plying a video and the buttoms were there, then I played other and they didnt appear.
Does this means that they only show up if the video allows them ? It would be fine if we could configure it, dont you think ?

Yes, they only show up if the video has chapters, otherwise they stey hidden as they are useless in a video without chapters.
