My Movies Skin

I am new to VLC so I hope you cut me a little slack if my question sounds dumb. Anyway here goes – is there a way to create a version of VLC say a VLC-Movies skin that when VLC starts it is in fullscreen mode and is displaying your Movies folder/directory (Media/Open Folder) with the icons of your movies and you double click on the icon and it plays the movie. This panel could have the standard menus – “Media, Playback, Audio, Video, Tools, View, Help” at the top. I have created icons for all my movies from their dvd covers. My movies directory has the following structure - Terminator Salvation/VIDEO_TS. What I would like is an interface similar to Mymovies without the overhead of Windows Media Center. You could do the same for your Music collection as well!
