Problem with the skin editor under linux

Postby Skullcrasher » 08 Jun 2009 14:11

Hi guys,
I have a problem with the VLC SkinEditor under (Arch)-Linux. Whenever I open my jar-archive with java, the gui appears without the right Messages and Icons. I tried it under windows and the same problem, but the win32 installer version works. For me it always looks like this:

Unfortunately normally I only work with linux and not windows (because of my tools).
How can I make the right icons and messages to appear under Archlinux??
Would be happy about any help

Is the "lang" folder from the zip/tar.gz in the same folder as the jar? Have you tried the launch script?
You must make sure that you launch java with the working directory set to the dir where the lang folder is.

Thank you for your answer. The lang folder was in the same folder as the jar (I just unzipped the archive). It tried it again with the launch script and now it works perfectly. I guess I know my mistake, I tried to righclick and opend it with a custom-command (the commands from the launch script), that didn't work. But when I try it now over the shell/ launch script it works.
Thank you very much. I hope in some time will be my first skins released ;)
