annoying fast forward and slow buttons

Postby schnorginator » 18 May 2009 18:52

I just tried out vlc .9.9. I'd been using .8.6. before. I thought the gui looked ok except for the horrible placement of the fast forward and slow buttons. Who decided to put them at both ends of the play bar? If I'm watching something full screen and want to fast forward I have to press the button all the way on the right of the screen. Then when I want to slow it back down I have to press the button all the way on the left side of the screen. Do this a few times and it quickly becomes very irritating. Did anyone actually test this out before deciding to use it? Why didn't you just put them by the other buttons on the bottom? There's plenty of room there. Yes I know there are skins I can use but I shouldn't have to and they all remove the menu bar which I don't like. This is annoying enough for me to go back to .8.6. Seriously, who thought this was a good idea?

Use VLC 1.0.0 and customize the buttons. And stop complaining.
