Video LAN VLC licensing

Postby rzamuco » 24 Mar 2009 03:40

While VideoLAN VLC sw is produced under the GNU/GPL agreement , its website does not mention any reference of possibility of incorporating the software on an organisation's SOE. Is there an issue with distributing this software in the :? base SOE?

What do you mean by SOE?

I think the GPL is quite clear on the possibility of using for entreprises.

Hi,

Not sure if this has been answered or not.
SOE is Standard Operating Environment, one image across multiple hardware platforms.

I too would like to know the licencing implications in I include this product in my SOE.
I have also read there are some CODECS bundled with VLC Player are licenced?
