Skinning the controller in fullscreen mode

Postby dalailama » 30 Sep 2008 20:30

Hi guys,
I'm trying to make my skin for VLC 0.9.2 and I've got a problem:
I have no idea about how to skin the controller in fullscreen mode.
When I select native skin and check "show controller in fullscreen mode" when in fullscreen mode I have just to move the mouse and the controller pops out, but all skins I tryed don't show this features even if the same "check box" is checked.
Please help me: how can I add this window/screen/controller to my skin?
Thanks.

Yep, asked for this somewhere too, would be a good thing, so the appearance isn't "half-skinned"

:(
ok, it's not possible...
...option2:
is it possible to have the native controller in fullscreen mode when VLC dresses a custom skin?
When I use a skin it disappears even if the "famous" box is checked...
please... help me!

Hi!

Ok, so could anyone explain why this doesn't work
or simply tell us if it will work in further releases?
Would be a nice feature!

I`ve seen a modification of the fullscreen controls somewhere....mom...

http://www.robertourso.com/wp-content/u ... eview2.png

something like this, would be really awesome....I think it`s only for the mac-version and according to the comments from http://www.robertourso.com/?p=111 it doesn`t work with newer versions of vlc...

the standard interface of the fullscreen controls as it is now is too inflexible...something familiar with the color-changes of the volume-slider would be great!

I`m satisfied with the gui of vlc and don`t need to skin it (using 1.0.0-dev ^^, great improvements with buttons, that can be changed and arranged differently) , but the fullscreen-control gives me eye-cancer ;)

j-b, i have to agree with BluePhoenix. it's ugly.

it would be great if this could be possible. i'd really like a full screen controller like the one that appears in the Mac OS X version of VLC. something that displays over the video and then fades out. since the full screen controller can't be skinned, this is impossible. you either get no full screen controller because you're using a skin, or you're stuck with the god-awful version in the native skin.

if allowing skinning isn't feasible, there must be some reasonable middle ground.
