Regarding the first post in this thread, if I may, I would like to suggest this site: http://best-skins.net/skins.html I’ve suggested this site a few times before but never for this reason. I hope that people can see some of the wonderful skins that have been made for VLC and attract others to designing skins for this media player. See ya.

hmm... perhaps the skins should be sorted by "popularity" or "most downloaded" or something of that sort? also... perhaps the method of submitting skins should be done via a php-based form?

The aim of this topic was to try and get VLC skins uploaded/showcased elsewhere on sites other than VideoLAN.

If you want to see some of the availalbe skins then you can download skins skins from VLC from here:

There's plenty of cool skins on deviantart,it would be the ideal place to upload new ones to.

Those aren't VLC skins.
Those are OS themes...

They are skins....they go in the VLC skins folder & have the file extension .vlt so they must be!They have full functionality too, independant of any Visual Style. Some are part of a VS & some are simply a VLC skin independant of any VS.
In any case at least two of the skins on the VLC skins page are on deviantart!I suppose they arn't skins either but an OS, as you say!
Just because they're not on the VLC official skins page it doesn't mean they are not skins.
They're excellent with a sleek,minimalist uncluttered look too!

I think j-b just took a quick peek at the screenshot, and from that quick peek one could truly conclude that these are just Mac OS X skins, but at a second look one sees that they are real skins.

These guys at deviantart should post their skins at videolan.org, so everybody can find them fast.

Thats right,there are several skins for MacOS & for Windows too.
The ones i posted are for Windows.

What does this mean? You won't add them unless the skin designers post it to the VLC skin site? Maybe someone could get in contact with them and ask them.
