Speed label
I installed vlc on my laptop and for some reason there is no speed label on the bottom like what I see in the one I installed on my desktop. Anyway to fix that?

Tools menu -> Customize interface -> add the Playback speed element.

Or if you just want the old status bar go to:
View >> Status Bar
