vlc 2.0.1 rec function - no audio?

Hello,
I attempted to record this video from youtube using VLC 2.0.1
www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5ikGtWFm4s

video sample: http://jumbofiles.com/w5cikis2ti0h

streamed the youtube vid then pressed the rec button. VLC automatically saved the file as .avi with video but no audio. The audio is not captured according to the codec info screen in VLC.

What's wrong? Does VLC have a problem with avi files? I did not even tell VLC to save it as an avi file.

VLC shouldn't save net streams as AVI files. So this is a bug, I will trac this during weekend.

Thank you. Why did VLC not capture the audio of the stream? That's what it's supposed to do when you simply press the record button.

Because the record uses wrong container format for WEBM streams. And VLC cannot write Vorbis audio to AVI container correctly.

What do you expect? The bug report says it's fixed in VLC 2.1.0, not 2.0.3...
