Multimedia keys only work if VLC has focus

Postby xichael » 14 Mar 2012 00:53

Is there any way to preserve multimedia key functionality while VLC is in the background? As it is, they just stop working when VLC loses focus.

You set the hotkeys as global ones?

I haven't set any hotkeys. VLC is set up this way by default. The problem with trying to set hotkeys, is that only one can be set for each function, and I don't want to loose the spacebar for play/pause.

You can set one normal hotkey and one global hotkey for same action.

I didn't notice that second column there. Thanks.

This should really be the default setup. Is there somewhere to request/suggest this?
