Running Windows XP Pro. After having been on STANDBY, whenever I click on a video file (M2TS format) my computer crashes. After I reboot, the video plays just fine. Never happened with older versions of VLC. Thanks.

Prolly a driver bug, which cause by returning from standby. VLC cannot crash your computer, buggy drivers or broken hardware can.

My professional computer guy was skeptical about the buggy driver claim, as was I, but I went ahead and downloaded the latest drivers for my ATI video card and -- Voila`-- it worked! Thanks, VLC_help. Now all I have to do is figure out why the audio on some of my videos is garbly, Not many, and none of my coveted M2TS files. My audio is set to WIN32 wave output.
